Talking about self-sufficent commits[1], just today I was asked about something I did a few months ago. Thanks to infrastructure as code and self-sufficent commits, it took me less than 2 minutes (including 2 logins) to find the commits that was in charge of the change why it was done and the related ticket, which triggered the whole action.

The first day it might be a bit tedious, but in the long term, it really pays off.
