Just pushed out a new blog article about my Shivering-Isles onion service:

shivering-isles.com/Shivering-

TL;DR: All services hosted by me get now accessible through tor. alt-svc is used to make sure your tor browser picks it up automatically. You can set it up yourself by following the tutorial or by using my ansible role:

I already shared about that topic earlier, but as I just saw this article by @aral again, let's just share it and show how great things can integrate:

With and you can easily sync files, clipboards, notifications and more between your phone and your desktop/notebook.

Just today I noticed that it hooks into `tel:` links and allows you "open" the link to a phone number on your desktop by sending it to your phone to make the call. Just great!

It's sad to see that accounts mainly features non-free services.

For whatever reason the number 1 entry is Google. Then, yay, Nextcloud as a free software integration, followed by Facebook, Microsoft, Flickr and Foursquare.

The last two are usually hidden, those are free protocol-based integrations like SMTP+POP3/IMAP and Kerberos.

I wonder if we can't do better than pushing those big non-free services using our wonderful free desktop platform.

@gnome any thoughts?

#Slub: New backdoor malware hits Slack and Github platforms

“The attackers also appear to be professionals, based on their way of handling their attack. They only use public third party services, and therefore did not need to register any domains or anything else that could leave a trail. The few email addresses we found during the investigation were also using trash email systems, giving the attackers a clean footprint” researchers added.

Since I just realized that it's maybe the only Mastodon instance with the focus on food, I just want to make it a bit more known:

kith.kitchen

I couldn't find any other english-speaking Mastodon instance with the focus on food on instances.social.

When you feel lost on one of the bigger instances, maybe it's something you were looking for.

I enjoy the few spam mails I get. It's always great comedy to read them.

My latest one was send from yahoo.com (DKIM confirms), has a from address with gmail.com and a reply-to address to outlook.fr. Not only that but it also claims to come from the UN while my answer should be send to a gmail address.

Somehow I'm amazed that for a single spam mail at least 4 different free mail account involved. Those spammers must be great at email account management.

Do you speak #arabic, #persian, #hebrew, #urdu, or any right-to-left language? Librsvg needs help to find test cases for those languages, and people who can tell us what the correct behavior is. gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/librsvg

Boosts appreciated!

Interesting. In may 2018 (so with GDPR in place) I requested an account deletion for my ClouDNS account.

Today I was checking all accounts tied to the mail address I used back then and went for password resets… Turns out they still have my account and simply suspended it.

Wrote a recipe in Gnome recipes but didn't upload it anywhere yet.

It's a version of the German dish "Armer Ritter"/french toast (a rather simple version of toast).

If anyone is interested in trying it and runs Gnome Recipes feel free to reach out to me.

The fedora magazine published an article about Gnome Recipes. So we literally talk about taste. Besides just reading recipes feel free to share yours! Everyone likes good food, so share your taste with the world!

Mhm, just got a spam mail to the mail address I provide on GitHub. Checked the company and figured out their GitHub organisation, reported them, linking to GitHub's terms of services C5:

help.github.com/en/articles/gi

I really hope GitHub will take action against them as this will probably hurt their "business" quite heavy.

If you receive unauthorized spam mails to your GitHub mail address, I highly recommend to report the companies organisations.
